Photographic exhibition ‘Vietnam and Laos’ Special Friendly Solidarity’ has opened in the northern mountainous province of Son La, reports VietnamPlus.

The event is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 35th anniversary of a friendship and cooperation agreement, a year of solidarity and friendship and conference on National Assembly (NA) cooperation between the nations.

Pany Yathotu, NA chairman of Lao People’s Democratic Republic, and his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Sinh Hung jointly cut the ribbons at the opening ceremony of the exhibition with the presence of many representatives of related agencies of both sides.

The exhibition showcases over 150 black and white photos in line with ‘Vietnam and Laos’ Special Friendly Solidarity’ and ‘Son La and Laotian northern provinces’ themes.

Several works have been publicized for the first time, truthfully and lively reflecting the fact that both nations fought side-by-side for freedom, national dependence, construction and development of Vietnam and Laos during the last half century.
