(VOV) - The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group in co-ordination with Vietnam Television (VTV) and Dan Tri newspaper launched the 2012 Vietnam Land Talent Awards on May 7.
This year’s event aims to discover real talent with practical contribution to society in the three fields of information technology (IT), applied science and medicine.
In both groups of successful and potential IT products, first, second and third awards will be worth VND100 million, VND50 million and VND30 million, respectively.
In particular, there will be two special awards, one for IT products in the fields of education and training, health care, and transportation and another for young contestants under 20 who have creative ideas.
Prof. Nguyen Van Hieu, head of the jury said the awards honour information technology (IT) products that are designed to make Vietnam soon become a country with well-developed IT.
In applied science, awards will be allocated for individuals or collectives who have recorded excellent achievements in mathematics, mechanics, physics and chemistry.
The first, second, third and consolation awards will be worth VND100 million, VND50 million, VND30 million and VND20 million, respectively.
In the field of health care, awards will be granted to research projects well applied in practice.
