PANO - 96 films from 30 countries worldwide have registered to take part in the first Vietnam International Film Festival Hanoi from October 17th to 21st. 50 of these films will be screened during the event.
The upcoming festival aims to improve the culture exchange and the cooperation between film producers in the Asian region and the rest of the world.
Judges of the event are famous domestic and foreign directors, including Philip Noyce - director of The Quite American, Marco Muller – director of the Venice Film Festival, Francois Catonne – a famous French cameraman, Korean director Kang Su Yeon, director Dang Nhat Minh, People’s Artist Dinh Hac and others.
According to the organising board of the event, Vietnam will select two films “Song about a musician in Thang Long citadel” directed by meritorious artist Dao Ba Son and “the Lieutenant” directed by Ha Son to take part in the festival.
Films in the event will be introduced to audiences in a public place near the Ly Thai To statue and in front of the Hanoi Opera House.
Many valuable prizes will be presented for the best films and directors. The opening and closing ceremonies will be held at the National Convention Center and broadcast live on VTV channels.
