Vietnam Airlines opens new route Hanoi-Chengdu

PANO – The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, on June 27th, officially opened the direct route the Hanoi-Chengdu (China) with three flights a week by Fokker 70 aircrafts.

PANO – The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, on June 27 th , officially opened the direct route the Hanoi-Chengdu (China) with three flights a week by Fokker 70 aircrafts.

Accordingly, the flights depart from Hanoi at 12:10 and from Chengdu (China) at 16:15 in local time by a 2-hour flight.

“The new air route will contribute to promote economic, cultural, and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and China’s Southwestern region and turn Hanoi into a regional airline gateway”, said Mr. Trinh Hong Quang, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Airlines.

It is the sixth non-stop route to China conducted by Vietnam Airlines, bringing the number of weekly flights between Vietnam and Cina to 36. At present, Chengdu is the 27th destination in the national carrier’s international airline network.

On the inauguration of the new direct air route, Vietnam Airlines offers an attractive promotion to passengers until December 31st, 2012 with the return ticket of VND 5.2 million and a package tour ticket of VND 12.5 million for flights on route Hanoi-Chengdu departing between June 27th and December 31st.
