Vietnam Airlines hopes to improve on its oft lambasted customer service after launching Wednesday an online check-in service on its website (http://www.vietnamairlines.com/) for some of its domestic flights.
The service, which has been available on a number of other regional airlines for years, will allow passengers to choose their seats, print boarding passes and complete check-ins online, the carrier said.
The national flag carrier said the service is only available for passengers with confirmed bookings, valid e-tickets and no check-in baggage.
Passengers are required to arrive at the airport at least 45 minutes before departure with the printed boarding pass.
Vietnam Airlines said the service will be provided on a trial basis until November 25, for domestic flights from Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport, Danang Airport and Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
However, as of press time Vietnam Airline's website was unable to process online check-ins, asking customers to check-in at airports as 'normal.'
