National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will add 195 flights on eight domestic routes to meet the increasing demand for air travel during the upcoming holiday between April 27 and May 2.
As these two holidays fall on Monday and Tuesday, employees nationwide will have four days off work altogether.
Accordingly, flights to Da Nang, where an international fireworks festival will be hosted, will be increased to include Hanoi to Da Nang (77 flights), Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang (56 flights), and Da Nang to Hai Phong (4 flights).
Other domestic routes that will also see an increase in flights include Hanoi to Nha Trang (15 flights), Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang (15 flights), HCMC to Phu Quoc (21 flights), Hanoi to Quang Binh (4 flights), and Hanoi to Hue (2 flights).
At the same time, Vietnam Airlines will also add more flights to international routes. The increased flights include Hanoi to Bangkok (4 flights), Ho Chi Minh City to Hong Kong (4 flights), and and Hanoi to Siem Reap (6 flights).
Air Mekong has announced it will offer an additional 40 flights on domestic routes that include Hanoi to Phu Quoc, HCMC to Phu Quoc, HCMC to Con Dao, and Hanoi to Da Lat between April 27 and May 2.
During the upcoming holiday, VietJet Air will open new routes from HCMC to Nha Trang and Da Nang, and will add more flights to its daily HCMC-Hanoi service.
