The Việt Nam News made its first foothold in the Vietnamese television industry yesterday by launching its Exploring Vietnam programme on the Vietnam News Agency television channel TTXVN.
The English-language show, subtitled in Vietnamese, will explore Viêt Nam's natural beauty and the diversity of its people as it travels the length of the country visiting world-famous areas and untouched destinations alike.
The programme will highlight modern Việt Nam while capturing the essence of the country's history as it talks to people from cities and remote parts of the country.
The first twenty-five minute episode, which focused on Vietnam's ancient city of Hue, aired on the TTXVN channel and is the first in the series which aims to showcase Việt Nam as a premier tourist destination.
The cultures, cuisines and lifestyles which define Vietnam's varied regions will be delved into in each episode as local people share their stories.
Exploring Việt Nam is a joint production between national English-language daily newspaper The Việt Nam News and Vietnam News Agency television channel TTXVN.
The series will be aired on Sunday evenings at 17.15 and 21.15 and will be repeated on Monday at 9.00 and 13.15.—VNS.
