Vice President to attend international conferences in Japan and Greece

(VOV) - Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan will lead a Vietnamese delegation to the 18th International Conference on "The Future of Asia" in Tokyo, Japan on May 24-25.

This year's conference, entitled "Asia's Role in a Tumultuous World – In Search of a New Growth Model" will discuss the role that the Asia-Pacific region can play to sustain growth and enhance stability in an increasingly tumultuous world.

Regional leaders will debate solutions to cope with challenges to development in Asia.

During her stay in Japan, Mrs Doan expects to visit Aichi prefecture and meet with Japanese officials to promote cooperative relations between the two countries.

*** From May 31-June 2, Vice President Doan will attend the 2012 Global Summit of Women (GSW) in Athens, Greece at the invitation of GSW President Irene Natividad.

The Vietnamese delegation will introduce the achievements it has recorded in promoting gender equality and women’s advancement, and share experiences in enhancing women’s role in development and boosting international cooperation for women’s advancement.
