Vice President greets Japanese Crown Prince

(VOV) - Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan paid a courtesy visit to Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito on May 24 as part of her visit to Japan for the 18th Annual “Future of Asia” Conference which is taking place in Tokyo on May 24-25.

Vietnam values ties with Japan

At the meeting, Vice President Doan said she was deeply impressed by Japanese people’s courage and iron will to restructure the nation after the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami last year, hoping that with their great efforts, they will overcome every difficulty to build Japan into a prosperous nation.

Mrs Doan also conveyed best regards and an invitation to visit Vietnam in 2013 from President Truong Tan Sang to the Japanese Emperor and Empress on the occasion of the 40 th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

For his part, Crown Prince Naruhito thanked the Vietnamese people for supporting his country after the dreadful disaster and praised Vietnam’s achievements in the process of national industrialization and modernization.

He said he believes Vice President Doan’s participation in the ”Future of Asia” Conference will contribute to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
