The Hanoitimes - The Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Company launched and handed over the barge VSP-05 to the Vietnam-Russia Oil and Gas Joint Venture (Vietsovpetro) on February 27.
On the same day, the company also successfully launched the 2,400 horsepower Dung Quat 01 tugboat.
Both events are of great significance to the Dung Quat Company, which was established in February 2006 under the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group and has belonged to the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) since July 2010.
The VSP-05 barge measures 109.8 metres long, 32 metres wide and 7 metres tall. The 15,000-tonne barge was capitalised at over VND 90.6 billion and completed after three months of construction.
Dung Quat Company also plans to complete two oil tankers with capacities of 104,000 and 105,000 tonnes this year.
On the occasion, Dung Quat Company also signed co-operation agreements with PetroVietnam.
