VND5 billion to help Quang Binh overcome flood consequences

PANO - The Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, in coordination with the Vietnamese Red Cross Society and Vietnam Multimedia Corporation (VTC), on Nov 9th handed over VND5 billion to Quang Binh Province to help local people overcome aftermaths of the flooding.

The sum is part of the fund raised through the National Humanity Information Gate (1400) for flood victims.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Nguyen Thanh Hung, said that after over a month of operation, the information gate has so far received a total of VND15 billion from benefactors nationwide and the first relief aid has been sent to central provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh.

On behalf of the local people, Vice-Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Xuan Quang, Head of the Quang Binh Steering Committee for Flood Prevention and Search and Rescue, expressed his deep thanks to the organisations and agencies and individuals throughout the country for their valuable assistance to Quang Binh Province.
