Nhan Dan – The Motor Vehicle Insurance Fund (MVIF) allocated VND300 million (US$14,400) for three Ho Chi Minh City-based transport co-operatives to install black box data recorders in their vehicles.
The money was used to buy and install data recorders in 110 vehicles.
According to a recent Government decree, coaches, buses and transport container vehicles must be equipped with data recorders as of July 1 this year.
The black box automatically records the vehicle’s speed and route so the information can be used for a number of purposes, especially to help investigate accidents.
