VND 15.8 trillion funded to upgrade Red River dyke

Capital for the project will be sourced from the national fund for upgrading dyke systems and the Hanoi city budget. The Hanoi Department of Agricultural and Rural Development has been assigned to plan the project in the 2012 – 2015 period.

The project will be carried out over seven years from 2012 – 2018, aiming to ugrade critical sections of the dyke to help prepare for storms and prevent flooding.

During the project, the more than 90 kilometres of dykes the right bank of the Red River running through Hanoi, including Son Tay, Phuc Tho, Dan Phuong, Hoai Duc, Tu Liem, Thanh Tri, Thuong Tin, Phu Xuyen and Hoang Mai districts, will be built, repaired and improved.
