Nhan Dan - As of March 21, the Vietnam Red Cross (VRC) has received nearly VND 13 billion (around US$ 624,000) from organisations and individuals to support Japanese victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami.
* Over VND 231 million (US$ 11,000) was raised on March 21 by the Ministry of Education and Training to help the Japanese victims.
* The same day, the Vietnam Construction and Import - Export Joint Stock Corporation (Vinaconex) donated VND 55 million (US$ 2,600) and the Party Committee, the People's Council and the Red Cross of the northern province of Phu Tho collected VND 40 million (US$ 1,900) through campaigns launched to raise funds for the Japanese disaster victims.
