The General Director of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), Nguyen Duc Loi, held talks with the President of the Prensa Latina news agency, Luis Enrique Gonzalez Acosta, in Hanoi on June 28.

At their meeting, General Director Loi said that the sharing of information between the VNA and the Cuban news agency has been effective and mutually beneficial.

Spanish language news produced by Prensa Latina news agency is an important source of information about Cuba and the Latin America region for the VNA, said Loi.

In order to deepen bilateral ties, Loi asked Prensa Latina to create a link to Vietnamplus, the Vietnam News Agency website to make it easier for readers to access its Spanish language news.

The two agencies agreed to expand cooperation in other forms of multimedia, especially television news.

General Director Loi said he hopes that Prensa Latina will welcome students the Vietnam News Agency assigns to Cuba and train them in reporting, editing and translating skills for periods of between 3 to 6 months.

The Prensa Latina President promised to facilitate the distribution of VNA’s ‘Vietnam Pictorial’ in Cuba, helping local people to learn more about the Vietnamese Party, State and its policies during the renewal period.-VNA
