The Vietnamese women’s national football squad won their second game in the qualifying round of the 2012 London Olympics after beating Jordan 1-0 early this Wednesday morning.
Nguyen Thi Hoa, who substituted for Thanh Huong starting at the 46th minute, scored the only goal of the match in the 67th minute. She had also scored two goals against Jordan in the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games.
Two days before, the Vietnamese squad was awarded a 3-0 victory after the Iran team withdrew from the match because they violated a FIFA rule that states no football player can appear in matches wearing headwear.
As a result, with six marks after two games, Vietnam now ranks second after Thailand who gain better goal difference after beating Uzbekistan 5-1 and taking a default 3-0 win over Iran.
As scheduled, on June 10 the Vietnamese team will meet Uzbekistan, who beat Jordan 3-0, and Thailand on June 12. Both matches will be held in Jordan.
