VN seeks more assistance from WHO

VGP – Việt Nam hopes to receive more support from the World Health Organisation (WHO) to improve capacity of the health sector, said Foreign Phạm Bình Minh.

The FM made the point today in Hà Nội while receiving new WHO representative to Việt Nam Takeshi Kasai.

FM Minh expressed his hope that WHO will continue to assist Việt Nam in fighting infectious and non-infectious diseases and dealing with nutrition and food safety and hygiene issues.

The WHO representative expressed his impression about Việt Nam’s achievements in socio-economic development, including healthcare.

He said that WHO considers Việt Nam as one of the nations of its prioritized cooperation and affirmed that he will coordinate with the Vietnamese Government in implementing the Việt Nam-WHO Cooperation Program in 2012-2013.
