VN returns to Nielsen’s top ten

VGP – Việt Nam has re-entered the list of top ten countries gaining consumer confidence and spending intentions of Nielsen’s Global Survey in this regard by scoring 99 points.

The survey, which was conducted between November 23 and December 9, 2011, showed that global consumer confidence dropped by 60% in 56 countries.

With 99 points in Q4, Việt Nam’s consumer confidence index jumped 3 points against Q3 after falling in three consecutive months.

Nielsen reported that 58% of customers showed their confidence in good business in 2012, up 1% against the previous quarter. However, up to 71% of them responded that December was not a good time for shopping.

The survey found that 66% of respondents thought that Việt Nam was in a recession period. Meanwhile 34% of respondents expressed their belief that the country would get out of the recession in 2012 and 84% of customers decided to shift their spending habits to save costs.

Started in 2005, Nielsen’s survey tracks consumer confidence, major concerns and spending intentions among more than 28,000 Internet consumers in 56 countries.
