VN pledges to cooperate with new U.S. Administration to boost ties

VGP – Viet Nam-U.S. relations have advanced positively and substantially in bilateral, regional and global aspects, meeting the benefits of the two nations and for the sake of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc made the above statement at his reception for former U.S. Senator James Webb on February 3.

Viet Nam continues attaching importance to further enhancing and deepening the Comprehensive Partnership relations with the U.S., the Government chief affirmed.

He took the occasion to express thanks to Mr. James Webb for his enthusiastic and valuable contribution to the two nation’s relationship over the recent years.

PM Phuc said he and President Donald Trump discussed orientations to promote the two nations’ relations in the future during their phone talks recently. Viet Nam pledges to cooperate with the new U.S. Administration to accelerate the bilateral ties.

The former U.S. Senator noted significant changes made by Viet Nam since his first visit to the Southeast Asian country in 1991.

Welcoming the phone talks between PM Phuc and President Donald Trump, the former Senator described it as a “good sign for the bilateral ties.”

James Webb committed to doing his utmost to strengthen the Viet Nam-U.S. relationship./.
