VGP – State President Trương Tấn Sang and his spouse will pay an official visit to Laos from February 9 to 12 to further cement and deepen confidence and coordination between the two countries.
This is State President Sang’s first visit to Laos since he took office.

The upcoming visit will kick off a series of activities to mark the Việt Nam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year, help enhance Việt Nam’s special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Laos and boost the two countries’ trade linkages.
Over the past years, Việt Nam has been the second largest investor in Laos. Vietnamese enterprises have so far involved in 224 projects in Laos, injecting a total investment of US $3.57 billion in the fields of mine ores, electricity, agriculture and services.
Two-way trade turnover was valued at US $636 million in the first 11 months of 2011, up 48% against 2010.
The two sides are trying to raise their trade revenues to US$1 billion in 2012 and US$2 billion in 2015./.
