Unifarm, Cofidec join forces for cultivation and purchase

HCMC – Coastal Fisheries Development Corp. (Cofidec), a member of Saigon Trading Group (Satra), and U&I Agriculture Corp. (Unifarm) under U&I Investment Corp. on Thursday signed a cooperation agreement on cultivating and purchasing agricultural materials for export.
Under the agreement, Unifarm will cultivate agricultural products such as eggplant, okra and papaya in its 50-hectare farming area in Binh Duong Province. Meanwhile, Cofidec will provide farming equipment, support in investing in the watering system and harvesting techniques as well as purchasing all harvested products.
The project, having an estimated investment of around VND3.5 billion, will generate some 3,000 tons of farm produce annually.
A representative of Cofidec said that with this cooperation, Cofidec would have a new material area which can help ensure its production materials for export to Japan and South Korea.
