Makeshift, parking lots, eateries and clothes stores have sprung up at many of the sites meant for high-rise building projects in HCMC as the long-held tight monetary policy has taken its toll on the property market. Difficult access to bank loans and dampened consumer demand have forced many property developers to delay their projects and make use of their project sites by temporarily leasing them to restaurateurs and parking service providers.
