The artists will perform at 8pm on April 6 at the HCMC Lan Anh Stage at 291 Cach Mang Thang Tam in District 10. Free tickets for the concert will be released at the Public Affairs Section/U.S. Consulate General at 34 Le Duan Street in District 1.
The band will also performance on April 8 and 9 in the central city of Hue within the framework of the city’s 7th biennial International Cultural Festival.
In addition to performances, the artists from the US will meet with students at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music at 9am on April 6, and the Hue Conservatory of Music at 9am on April 10.
Also, they will hold outreach events for disadvantaged people in HCMC, Hue and Quang Tri Province.
McBride and her band have released four albums, including “Everything Seemed Alright,” “By Any Other Name,” “Every Day Is a Holiday” and “The Way Home.”
She has performed over 500 live shows in the US and Europe, including tours with famous artists like Blondie, the Indigo Girls, the B52s, Cyndi Lauper, Koko Taylor, Tony Joe White, Delbert McClinton and Joe Cocker.
As part of the release of her fourth album "The Way Home," Mary launched “The Home Tour” project in the summer of 2010. The project aims to bring concerts to disadvantaged people who live in places support by charity, including supported housing communities, long-term health care centers, shelters for homeless people, homes for people living with HIV/AIDS, and homes for people afflicted with mental and physical disabilities and cannot access music shows.
