UK Foreign Secretary to visit Vietnam

William Hague will pay an official visit to Vietnam on April 24-25 at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Binh Minh.

During the visit, Hague is scheduled to hold talks with Minh, pay courtesy visits to senior Vietnamese leaders, and speak about education in the UK with university students.

Relations between Vietnam and the UK have been developing well since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1973.

In September 2010, Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem and UK Foreign Secretary William Hague signed a statement on the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership, paving the way for comprehensive development of bilateral relations.
