Speaking ahead of his departure, Browne said: “Vietnam has an increasingly important international role to play and the Strategic Partnership between our two countries reflects that.

I have been struck by the dynamism and drive of the Vietnamese people and as it becomes an increasingly attractive destination for British business, we look forward in turn to welcoming more Vietnamese companies to the UK.”

Browne’s Vietnam visit is part of a wider tour of Asia, which will also take him to Thailand, Cambodia and Hong Kong.
