PANO – The U17 National Football Championship - Thai Son Nam Cup 2012 will officially take place in Hue City of Thua Thien-Hue Province from July 11th to 20th, according to a press conference on July 5th held by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
The final event draws the 8 strongest teams namely Viettel, Ninh Binh, HA.GL, SLNA, ĐT.LA, Dong Thap, the present champion SHB Da Nang and the hosting Thua Thien-Hue. They will be divided into two groups, to compete in round robin games to select two best teams from each group for the next round.
Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Lan Trung, Deputy Chairman of the VFF, said that this year’s event will be a festival for young people to perform and improve their skills and show their desire to become professional players.
The champion will be awarded with VND 100 million in cash while the runner-up gets VND 60 million and the two third finalists receives 40 million each. Besides, some additional awards will be presented to the best player, best goalkeeper and top scorer.
After the opening event, the first match between Thua Thien-Hue and SLNA teams will start.
