Two young foreigners, Aslan from Turkey and Kyo York from the USA have fallen in love with Vietnamese songs and hope to become singers of Vietnamese songs.
Aslan has been living in Vietnam for six years and it took him first two years to understand the meaning of certain Vietnamese songs. With the understanding the lyrics of songs, Asian has been very keen on singing Vietnamese songs and he has been practising very hard to sing them well”.
While studying in the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Aslan had chance to meet many popular singers and comedians and they inspired Aslan to sing.
Aslan have performed with singers on famous stages screened on the ANTV channel at the “Vietnam in my heart” program and has become special guest of various universities’ shows in Hanoi. Recently, singer Khanh Phuong invited Aslan to sing a duet in a his music video.
Another foreigner, Kyo York also loves Vietnamese songs after participating in a two-year free English training program in the Southern Province of Hau Giang.

He is well-known for love songs of composers Trinh Cong Son and Ngo Thuy Mien, and he usually performs at the tea-room of singer SiuBlack in Ho Chi Minh City. Kyo sings Vietnamese songs not only in Vietnam but also in England, Malaysia, to new a few, when he tours with local art troupes abroad.
He said that he did not have a special secret to sing Vietnamese songs, he only sings by his heart and soul.
Kyo is now learning to sing the song “Bai khong ten cuoi cung” (The last nameless song) and plans to offer a live show for Vietnamese students.
