Two Vietnamese students were Le Nguyen Ngoc Anh and Hua Thi Kim Chau among five financial students from La Trobe University to win at the national round of the Global Investment Research Challenge competition organized by the CFA Institute.
Names here will attend the final contest of the CFA competition in Asia, to be held in Bali, Indonesia in February, 2011. If they continue to win, they will attend the world final round held in April, 2011 in the US.
The competition aims to help students improve their knowledge of finance and commercial investment through research, evaluation and writing a report on the financial situation of a particular business.
Le Nguyen Ngoc Anh, 22 years old, was a top physics student at Le Quy Don High School in Da Nang city, Vietnam. In 2006, she came first in the entrance exam of Da Nang Economic University and then received a scholarship to study abroad. Hua Thi Kim Chau, also 22, was a student at HCMC University of Foreign Trade. In 2009, Kim Chau went to Australia to study under an affiliated education program.
After winning the CFA competition in Australia, Ngoc Anh and Kim Chau will be tutors at La Trobe University for a year. The two students are continuing to study and aiming for Honour degrees in Australia.
