(VOV) - Vietnam’s outstanding table tennis player Tran Tuan Quynh is hopeful of going to the 2012 London Olympics.
Quynh currently ranks 244 in the world and is considered Vietnam’s top seed above Quang Linh, Viet Linh and My Trang.
The four Vietnamese will compete at the Southeast Asian Olympic qualification tournament, scheduled for Bangkok, Thailand, this weekend. Only the gold medallist will secure a berth to the coming Olympics.
Earlier, key player Doan Kien Quoc has decided not to attend the upcoming Olympic qualifier, paving the way for Quang Linh.
The Vietnamese players are scheduled to leave Vietnam on February 3 for the competition in Thailand, where they may face strong rivals from Singapore, including Yang Zi (world No.48) and Zhan Tian (world No.68).
