Vietnamese chess player Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son defeated the former world chess champion, Anatoly Karpov, to rank 4th place in Board A at the 9th Cap D’Agde 2010.
Previously, chess player Anatoly Karpov had won the championship at the tournament 12 times.
Another Vietnamese chess player, Le Quang Liem, gained a victory over Gharamian Tigran and drew with Vasily Ivanchuk. With such achievement, Liem and Ivanchuk continue to lead Board B in the Cap D’Agde.
