The Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) Central Committee will organize training courses to raise capacity for female candidates to the National Assembly and People's Council in six provinces and cities.
In the framework of the project on raising the percentage of female participating in leadership positions sponsored by the Spanish International Cooperation and Development Agency (AECID), the VWU Central Committee will organize eight training courses from March 28 to April 9 for female candidates to the 13th National Assembly in North, South and Central regions and training courses for female candidates to People's Councils at all levels for the period of 2011-2016 in six provinces and cities.
The target of these training courses is to enhance knowledge and skills for first-time female candidates for election to the NA and People's Councils, to help female candidates to be confident and successful during their nomination, contributing to increase the percentage of females participating in the NA and People's Councils at all levels to 30% or above.
During the three-day training course, female candidates will be introduced to NA, NA deputy, People's Council, People's Council deputy and political participation issues for women.
The female candidates will be trained in skills such as building action programs, presenting their programs to voters; popularizing via mass media and time management during the election process.
