Train crash in Binh Thuan, one dies

VietNamNet Bridge – A dump truck crashed into a passenger train this morning, April 24, in Binh Thuan province. Two carriages were derailed. The truck driver died, stuck in the cabin.

Mr. Dinh Van Sang, deputy director of the Saigon Railway Transport Company, says that the train was running through a crossroad when the dump truck crossed the railway and crashed into the train.

The train was on the way from Saigon to Phan Thiet when the accident happened, around 20km from Phan Thiet town.

The first three carriages of the train were cut off, with two of them being overturned. The locomotive lost control and ran to the Phan Thiet station, around 20km from the site.

The overturned wagons are a canteen and a cargo carriage so there was no victim. However, at least two train employees were chafed.

The dump truck driver died on the spot, since he was stuck inside the cabin.

Some motorbikes and luggage on the train felt down to the rail. Some products were ruined. The site was blocked.
