Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) has introduced the all-new sport car Toyota 86.
It is an entirely driver-centric machine, designed to deliver the core qualities of a classic sports car experience, instantaneous throttle response, excellent steering precision, unrivalled handling and superb aerodynamic performance.
The all-new Toyota 86 is available at all TMV’s dealer networks from June 8.
With the development concept of “a rear-wheel-drive concept car with intuitive handling,” Toyota sought to create a compact rear-wheel drive sports car that drives according to the driver’s wishes and enables drivers to experience the pleasure of driving.
“With the launch of Toyota 86, Toyota does expect to create a new fun-to-drive trend to arouse the passion of the speedy sport cars that create the real emotions and feelings while driving, as well as initiate the sport car market by targeting car lovers. I believe that the Toyota 86 will capture the car lovers’ hearts and bring the fun-to-drive feeling to its customers," said president of TMV Yoshihisa Maruta in the Toyota 86 launching ceremony in Hanoi on June on June 8.
Toyota has established a long history of producing exciting, driver-focused sports cars with a front-engine, rear-wheel drive format that have proved as popular with the public as they have been successful in competition.
The new 86 is the world’s most compact and aerodynamic four-seater sports car. It combines the technical constraints of the smallest possible packaging dimensions with an ultra low centre of gravity and excellent aerodynamic performance.
With the sales target for Toyota 86 of 40 units per year, TMV believes Toyota 86 with the automatic transmission and reasonable price will initiate the sport car market and create the fun-to-drive trend in Vietnam’s automobile market contributed to strengthening TMV's leading position and together with Toyota to lead the motorisation of Vietnam.
