Top lawmaker bids farewell to Romanian, Iraqi diplomats

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung separately received Romanian Ambassador Dumitru Olaru and Iraqi Ambassador Faris Al-Ani in Ha Noi yesterday at the end of their terms in Viet Nam.

HA NOI —

At the reception given to the Romanian ambassador, Hung said the relationship between Viet Nam and Romania had developed in various fields during the diplomat's term in office.

He said he hoped the Romanian diplomat would continue to support relations between the two

countries.

Ambassador Dumitru said that Romania highly valued Viet Nam's national construction and development and described the country as a trusted friend and good partner of Romania.

At another reception for Iraqi Ambassador Faris Al-Ani, Hung congratulated Iraq on its political stability, national reconstruction and economic development.

Hung proposed increasing the exchange of high-ranking delegations and co-operation between the two parliaments and governments as well as co-ordination at international and regional forums.

Ambassador Faris Al-Ani spoke highly of Viet Nam's potential, and said he hoped Viet Nam would actively participate in his country's national reconstruction. — VNS
