Top Myanmar legislator concludes Vietnam visit

VietNamNet Bridge – Khin Aung Myint, President of the Myanmar Parliament, left Hanoi, concluding an official five-day visit to Vietnam at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

During his stay, Khin Aung Myint, who is also Speaker of the Upper House, held talks with Mr Hung, paid a courtesy visit to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, and met with State President Truong Tan Sang.

Both sides agreed to increase the exchange of high-level visits, soon establish friendship parliamentarians groups, and strengthen legislative cooperation, as well as supporting each other at multilateral forums, so as to increase political confidence and mutual understanding, helping to boost bilateral cooperation in economics trade, investment and other areas.

The Myanmar legislator echoed the Vietnamese leaders’ view that the two legislatures need to increase exchanges to make Myanmar-Vietnam relations more efficient and substantial.

On June 23, he visited Bai Dinh pagoda and the twice recognised World Heritage site of Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh province, about 200km from Hanoi capital.
