Vietnamese badminton players had another successful day at the second round of the ongoing US Open Grand Prix Gold held from July 11th to 16th.
On July 13th, Tien Minh won over Agusriadi Wijaya, a Malaysian player, with a 2-0 score. The Vietnamese top badminton player will face a strong rival, P. Kashyap from India at the third round.
The same day, four other Vietnamese players also achieved victories in the men’s doubles competition. Dao Manh Thang and Bui Bang Duc beat Vincent Nguy and Sameera Gunatilenka of the USA while Nguyen Hoai Nam and Tranh Thanh Hai won by 2-0 over Genli and Cheng Liu from China.
These Vietnamese players, especially Tien Minh, are expected to advance further in the ongoing tournament.
