Politburo members To Huy Rua, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission for Organisation; Tran Van Tuy, Secretary of the Bac Ninh provincial Party Committee and Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, President of the Vietnam Women’s Union, attended the meeting with voters in Bac Ninh, together with NA deputies from the province.
The delegation reported that the NA had a successful session and completed its working agenda. Deputies discussed many important matters related to socio-economic development policies, the Q&A session and building laws and ordinances.
This session was organised and run more openly, with more live television and radio broadcasts of its activities. Q&A sessions focused on significant issues of public concern and better preparations for building laws and ordinances achieved a high consensus among deputies and gained voter support.
On the same day, PCC Secretary and Head of the PCC Commission for Mass Mobilisation, Ha Thi Khiet, and deputies from Ha Giang province met with voters in Sa Phin commune, Dong Van district, in Ha Giang.
After hearing the delegation’s report on the third NA session, voters said they were pleased but raised concerns about the projects to replace the use of wood as fuel in the province’s four most remote mountainous districts and invest in these districts to develop and increase forest coverage, protect ecological systems and water sources, and sustainably conserve the UNESCO-recognised Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark.
Ha Giang voters were also concerned about a project to gather scattered households in the high mountains along the national border and in disadvantaged or natural disaster prone areas, into villages in accordance with the 2011-2015 programme to build new rural areas.
They also said they hoped for preferable policies to help ethnic minority students be admitted directly to colleges and universities.
PCC Secretary Khiet thanked the voters for their ideas, promising to raise them at the next NA session and to relevant central agencies and inform the voters about the results as soon as possible.
