Young Vietnamese talent tennis player Nguyen Hoang Thien was defeated by Mexican Marco Aurelio in the first round of the Eddie Herr International Junior Tennis Championships in the US on November 30.
Thien, placed 130th in the ITF Junior rankings, lost 6-7 and 6-7 to his No.50 rival in the boy’s singles event.
He will also pair with Thai player Koaykul in the boy’s doubles to face Australia’s Ahne and China’s Li in the 1/32 stage.
The tournament is part of an International Tennis Federation’s series for group 1 junior players, which has attracted a large number of best players to score points for the coming season.
Thien will attend the Orange Bowl in the US one week later.
