PANO – 65 cyclists from 13 teams taking part in the 14th Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Cycling Tournament 2011 on November 20th, started their journey from the HQs of Ho Chi Minh City’s Radio station to the Mekong Delta province of Long An.
PANO – 65 cyclists from 13 teams taking part in the 14 th Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Cycling Tournament 2011 on November 20 th , started their journey from the HQs of Ho Chi Minh City’s Radio station to the Mekong Delta province of Long An.
The participants will cycle a 500km route with three laps of HCMC-Tra Vinh, Tra Vinh-Can Tho and Can Tho-Hoc Mon (HCMC).
Taking place at the same time as the 26 th SEA Games, the tournament is an attractive race with participation of 13 strong teams, including the Saigon Plant Protection 1 and 2, District 3, Hoc Mon, the Army, Military Zone 7, Domesco Dong Thap, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and others.
According to the organising board, the winners will receive prizes worth about VND 200 million and the outstanding cyclists will be chosen for the national team to prepare for the upcoming tournaments.
This year’s event is held by the HCM City’s Radio, the People’s Committees of Districts 5 and Hoc Mon (HCMC) between November 20 th and 22 nd to welcome the 71 st anniversary of the Nam Ky Uprising (November 23 rd ) and 67 th founding anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army (December 22 nd ).
