HCMC – Thai Airways International has created more connectivity for its flights from Vietnam and renowned sacred sites Bodh Gaya and Varanasi in India to cater to rising demand of tourists and pilgrims.

Thai Airways currently serves Thailand’s capital city of Bangkok and India’s Bodh Gaya and Varanasi, and this flight is connected with those flights that the airline conducts from Vietnam’s HCMC and Hanoi.

Karun Sirarojanakul, general manager of Thai Airways in Vietnam, said the carrier had received a very good response to the product from the Vietnamese market because it gave travelers more choices.

As both Bodh Gaya and Varanasi are increasingly popular among pilgrims and tourists in Vietnam, Thai Airways has provided more air connectivity between the two largest Vietnamese cities and these Indian sites from its Bangkok hub at Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

Karun said Thai Airways had applied a daily frequency from the international airport in Bangkok to Bodh Gaya and Varanasi in the winter schedule.

The World Heritage site Bodh Gaya where the Lord Buddha attained enlightenment and the 4,000-year-old city of Varanasi on the Ganges River are listed as among India’s most sacred sites and Asia’s most important religious attractions. Every year, these sites attract a great number of pilgrims from around the world.

Thai Airways offers individual passengers two-way fares starting from US$561 to Bodh Gaya and Varanasi from HCMC and from US$428 from Hanoi. These rates are exclusive of airport taxes and surcharges.

In addition to Indian destinations, Thai Airways has launched a daily service to Haneda Airport to bring the number of flights between Bangkok and Japan’s Tokyo to four per day, including three daily flights to Narita Airport from Bangkok.

Thai Airways has expanded its services to Tokyo via Haneda Airport because of the demand of passengers for closer access to the heart of the city and to fit connectivity with the domestic flights within Japan.

Thai Airways’ daily flight departs from Tan Son Nhat Airport at 10:20 a.m. and arrives at Suvarnabhumi at 11:45 a.m. The departure and arrival times at Bangkok and Haneda are 2:50 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. respectively.

Return fares for a Thai Airways flight between Vietnam and Haneda via Bangkok starts from US$656 from HCMC and US$673 from Hanoi. Besides, the carrier is promoting two-way fares from US$551 to US$651 for its flights to European destinations and Los Angeles; from US$451 to Australia’s Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
