The Institute of International Education (IIE) Vietnam has announced 10 top students will receive the GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders for the 2011/2012 academic year.

The Institute of International Education (IIE) Vietnam has announced 10 top students will receive the GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders for the 2011/2012 academic year.

The chosen students will receive US$1,150 annually for the remainder of their studies up to a maximum of three years. Scholarships will be awarded to seven students in Hanoi, Ho Sy Viet Anh (College of Technology, VNU Hanoi), Nguyen Thi Le Quyen (Foreign Trade University Hanoi), Nguyen Kieu Hieu, Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh, Pham Viet Cuong, Tran Van Do and Vo Thi Hanh (all University of Natural Sciences, VNU Hanoi); two students in HCMC, Nguyen Thi Phuong Tuong (Foreign Trade University HCMC) and Vu Cat Tuong (International University, VNU HCMC) and one student from Hue University Nguyen Thi Hanh Nhon.

The program provides financial assistance to economically disadvantaged first-year Vietnamese students and targets students who possess leadership skills in business, engineering and the sciences sectors.

The program includes a three-day leadership development seminar, career seminar, a mentoring component and a community service requirement. The leadership development seminar and career seminar will be held in Hanoi from Wednesday until Friday.
