A teenager was fatally stabbed in Hanoi Tuesday night after he and his friends entered a room in a karaoke parlor that was occupied by another group of people.
Nguyen Van Hung, 24, who did the stabbing on the second day of the Lunar New Year, has been detained by the police for further investigation, news website VnExpress reported.
Hung had stabbed Nguyen Van Phuong, 19, outside the parlor in Ba Vi District.
It appears that Phuong and his friends entered the room that Hung had booked. They were beaten by the latter and his friends who were reportedly drunk.
The shop owner intervened in the dispute and asked Phuong's group to leave.
Phuong’s group waited outside the parlor to avenge their insult. In the scuffle that followed Phuong was stabbed by Hung in the chest with a knife carried along.
Hanoi police and their counterparts in Ba Vi District arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. They arrested Hung the same night at his home.
