Inspectors from the Ministry of Transport suspended operations and revoked license of Tourism Transport Cooperative No.2 Company in Ho Chi Minh City for violating regulations, on December 6.

According to chief inspector Nguyen Xuan Hao, the ministry began conducting intensive checking of the Mai Linh Company and the Tourism Transport Cooperative No.2 Company early on December 5.
Inspectors soon found that the Tourism Transport Cooperative Company was not equipped with walkie-talkies, their drivers had no resume records and the company had not provided any parking space for taxis or refreshment areas for drivers on shifts. On paper the Transport Cooperative had declared 52 cabs in service, whereas actually they only had a total 26 cabs.
The inspection team has suspended operations of the company and revoked their license.
Since December 5, inspectors from the Ministry of Transport and its department in HCMC have been conducting inspections of nine taxi companies operating in HCMC.
The nine companies under inspection are Mai Linh Taxi, Taxi Vietnam, Anh Duong Joint Stock (Vinasun), Saigon Hoang Long, Phuong Trang, Tourism Transport Cooperative No.2, Minh Duc Tourism Transport Co-operative, Taxi Gas Saigon Petrolimex and Duc Linh Private Company.
The inspections will continue until December 20.
