The Japanese retail group of Takashimaya will officially participate in the Vietnamese retail market as it has recently signed a property lease contract with the local property company of Keppel Land Watco.
Under the contract, Takashimaya Singapore, an affiliate of Takashimaya Group, will rent 15,000 square meters on the fifth floor in the Saigon Centre for a long term, the project that is invested by Keppel Land Watco, a joint-venture among the two Vietnamese investors of South River Corporation and Sai Gon Property Company and the Singaporean property company of Keppel Land.
According to Keppel Land Watco, the area that Takashimaya Singapore leases makes up some 30 per cent of its total leasing area.
They also said that the Sai Gon Centre is being implemented in the second phase and when the whole project has finished, the Trade Centre with its favourable location will become a shopping hub in Ho Chi Minh City.
