Both teams entered the match with great determination but failed to create any clear chances to net the ball during the first 45 minutes.
It was not until the 76th minute that striker Minh Thang produced a clever shot to score the only goal of the finals and secure victory for the Dong Thap team

Having been defeated in the two previous semi-final matches last weekend, Song Lam Nghe An and Hanoi shared third prize, earning bronze medals and VND25 million (US$1,200) each.
Song Lam Nghe An also won the fair-play prize while the ‘best player’, ‘best goalkeeper’ and ‘top scorer’ titles in the final round went to Nguyen Viet Thang (SHB Da Nang), Nguyen Son Hai (TDCS Dong Thap), and Cao Xuan Thang (Song Lam Nghe An), respectively.
