Politburo member Quang, who is also Head of the Central Highlands Steering Committee, made this statement on June 18 at a meeting of the Steering Committee in Hanoi.
Minister Quang also asked the region to resolve pressing issues related to land, jobs and agriculture in order to help the local people, especially ethnic minorities, increase their incomes and stabilise their lives.
Under the leadership of the Party and Government, the Central Highlands has gained significant achievements in socio-economic development over the past years and improved the living standards of local residents.
The region has also prevented and defeated reactionary forces to ensure local political and social security, as well as strengthen national unity.
The Politburo member asked the authorities and people of the Central Highlands to adhere to Party and Government Resolutions on the region in order to hasten its socio-economic development.
