PetroVietnam is one of several large State-owned corporations to have economic mismanagement revealed.
This information was disclosed by Chief Government Inspector Huynh Phong Tranh at a press conference yesterday.
He said 25 inspections were carried out in the first quarter of 2012 and reports have been published on eleven of them.
The Government Inspectorate is finalising reports of 11 other investigations and making inquiries into three remaining cases of alleged mismanagement at the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank), and in Dak Nong and Quang Binh provinces.
In the first quarter, the Government Inspectorate dealt with 2,995 of the 3,554 complaints it has received from citizens.
Chief Inspector Tranh said the number of complaints has soared dramatically following the Tien Lang incident, adding that most of the complaints received are related to land issues.
