(VOV) - On July 13, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan received a delegation of 100 outstanding young intellectuals from central agencies in the lead up to the 10th National Youth Union Congress.
Vice President Doan praised the young people for their political quality and virtuous characters, and for improving themselves by following the moral example of late President Ho Chi Minh.
The Vietnamese Party and State have always considered youth work a vital national issue and one of the decisive factors behind the success of the Vietnamese revolution, Ms Doan said.
She emphasized that all young intellectuals should continue improving their sense of morality and study to meet the demands for national construction and defense in the new era.
Of the 100 young intellectuals at the meeting, 40 were doctors and the others hold high positions in centrally-run organizations.
All of them said they want to use their professional skills and political convictions to contribute more to the nation's development.
