(CPV) – At the invitation of Lao Party General Secretary and State President Chummaly Sayasone, on February 9, State President Truong Tan Sang, his wife and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation left Hanoi for an official visit to Laos.
This is the first visit to Laos by State President Truong Tan Sang as the State President of Vietnam, and also the first event in a series of activities celebrating the Year of Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship 2012.
The State President is accompanied by Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister; Dao Viet Trung, Head of the Office of the State President; Pham Vu Luan, Minister of Education and Training; Vu Trong Kim, Deputy Head and Secretary General of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Nguyen Thanh Cung, Deputy Minister of National Defence; Tran Viet Tan, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Pham Quang Vinh, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Nguyen Manh Hung, Standing Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee Commission for External Relations; Nguyen Thanh Bien, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Nguyen The Phuong, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment; and Le Khanh Hai, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism./.
