State President to begin five-day visit to China

State President Quang made that statement at his meeting with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on May 12 on the occasion of his State visit to China.

Amid complex global situation, the consolidation and enhancement of the Viet Nam-China friendship and cooperation is an objective demand, suitable with the two peoples’ fundamental and long-term interests as well as conducive to peace, stability and development in the region and the world, stated the Vietnamese State President.

He suggested the Chinese Premier continue measures to expand and improve the effectiveness of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, including the completion of legal procedures to open the Chinese market for milk, dairy products, fruits, aquatic products and pork of Viet Nam.

He asked the Chinese side to facilitate the two nations’ large businesses to boost trade in coal, agricultural products, especially rice and cassava.

The Vietnamese leader welcomed greater efforts of the joint working group for infrastructure cooperation in further promoting large-scale projects in fields of high-tech agriculture, auxiliary industry, renewable and clean energy and development of high-quality human resources.

He also suggested China provide more preferential credit for Viet Nam and create favorable for Viet Nam to access to the concessional credit within the ASEAN-China and Mekong- Lancang River framework.

It is necessary to continue to open and upgrade joint border gates, apply customs facilitation measures, cooperate to fight crimes and keep security and order in border areas, and maintain a peaceful and stable environment for the two countries’ cooperation and development, he added.

State President Quang took the occasion to convey PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s invitation to the Chinese Premier to pay an official visit to Viet Nam.

The Chinese Premier affirmed that the Party and Government of China always treasure the friendly neighborliness and comprehensive cooperation with Viet Nam, and China always attaches importance to Viet Nam’s requests

China has taken measures to expand imports of Vietnamese agricultural products, improve the trade balance and facilitate the implementation of preferential credits as well as respond Viet Nam’s suggestion on sustainable use of trans-border water resources, he said.

He agreed with State President Quang’s viewpoint to enhance strategic discussions and direct the two countries’ sectors and localities to seriously comply with common perceptions reached by their high-ranking leaders to contribute to the Viet Nam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

Premier Li accepted the invitation to pay an official visit to Viet Nam in the future.
